1. Overview
HGP.Agency is a digital platform operated by COOPSAFRICA (Pty) Ltd (“COOPSAFRICA”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and exclusively licensed to The Honey Group Co-operative Society (“the Co-op”) for the coordination and management of hostess services.
All hostesses using the platform are members of the Co-op, and all clients booking services through the platform are contracting directly with The Honey Group Co-operative Society.
Use of the platform constitutes acceptance of these Terms of Service.
2. Parties Involved
- COOPSAFRICA (Pty) Ltd – Provides and maintains the HGP.Agency digital platform as a software service (Platform-as-a-Service).
- The Honey Group Co-operative Society – A registered worker co-operative whose members (“Hostesses”) provide hospitality and event services through the platform.
- Hostess Members – Individual co-op members who use the platform to provide services to clients.
- Clients / Customers – Individuals or organizations that book and pay for hostess services via the platform.
3. Membership and Registration
3.1 Hostess Registration
- To provide services through the platform, a person must register as a member of The Honey Group Co-operative Society.
- Upon registration, each hostess agrees to the Co-op’s constitution and policies.
- A membership contribution of R250 per annum is payable to the Co-op.
- This annual fee covers:
- Co-op membership dues;
- Platform access and system usage; and
- Administrative costs for maintaining member accounts.
3.2 Client Registration
- Clients must create a verified account on HGP.Agency to book and pay for services.
- Clients agree to provide accurate information and maintain confidentiality of their login credentials.
4. Platform Services
- COOPSAFRICA provides access to HGP.Agency as a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) for the Co-op’s exclusive use.
- The platform enables:
- Hostess profiles and scheduling;
- Secure client bookings;
- Digital payment processing; and
- Communication and performance tracking.
COOPSAFRICA does not employ the hostesses or provide any hospitality services. All services are rendered by members of the Co-op.
5. Service Engagement and Payments
5.1 Service Engagement
- When a client books a service through the platform, a direct contract is created between the client and The Honey Group Co-operative Society.
- The Co-op assigns one or more hostess members to fulfil the booking.
- COOPSAFRICA acts only as the technology intermediary.
5.2 Payments
- All payments must be made through the platform.
- Client payments are processed on behalf of The Honey Group Co-operative Society.
- The Co-op allocates payments to members according to its internal policies after applicable commissions or service charges.
- Clients agree not to make off-platform payments to hostesses.
5.3 Refunds and Cancellations
- Refunds are subject to the Co-op’s cancellation policy as published on the platform.
- COOPSAFRICA is not liable for refunds but facilitates the process via the system.
6. Hostess Obligations
Hostess members agree to:
- Uphold professional standards and ethical conduct during service;
- Respect client confidentiality and property;
- Adhere to the Co-op’s Code of Conduct;
- Maintain valid membership and pay annual dues;
- Refrain from direct solicitation of clients outside the platform.
Failure to comply may result in suspension or termination of membership.
7. Client Obligations
Clients agree to:
- Treat hostesses with respect and dignity;
- Use the platform lawfully and ethically;
- Refrain from requesting illegal, unsafe, or inappropriate services;
- Make all payments through the platform;
- Provide accurate event or engagement details.
Violations may lead to suspension or termination of access.
8. Fees and Deductions
- COOPSAFRICA may charge a platform service fee to the Co-op per transaction.
- The Co-op may deduct administrative or commission fees before distributing member earnings.
- Any updates to fee structures will be communicated in advance.
9. Data and Privacy
- COOPSAFRICA and the Co-op comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
- Personal data is collected solely for the purposes of:
- Managing bookings;
- Verifying users;
- Processing payments; and
- Improving platform functionality.
- Data will not be shared with third parties except as required by law.
10. Intellectual Property
- All software, trademarks, and content on HGP.Agency are owned or licensed by COOPSAFRICA (Pty) Ltd.
- Hostess profiles and images uploaded remain the property of the individual and/or the Co-op, but COOPSAFRICA retains usage rights for platform display and marketing.
11. Limitation of Liability
- COOPSAFRICA provides the platform “as is” and makes no guarantees about uninterrupted access or performance.
- COOPSAFRICA is not responsible for:
- Service quality, conduct, or performance of hostesses;
- Losses resulting from client–hostess interactions;
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- The Honey Group Co-operative Society is responsible for all services delivered under its name.
12. Dispute Resolution
- Disputes between clients and hostesses will first be mediated by the Co-op.
- Platform-related disputes should be addressed to COOPSAFRICA’s support desk.
- Both parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing legal remedies.
13. Amendments
- COOPSAFRICA and the Co-op may update these Terms from time to time.
- Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
